Engadine Consolidated Schools will open its doors Tuesday, September 2, after a summer of major repairs and renovations. New ceilings, lighting, tiles, heating units, and doors have been installed in both the elementary and high schools. Work has begun on installing some 70 windows throughout the building. These windows will replace a number of single pane windows installed during the 1967-68 school year. Installation of these windows is set to begin September 15 and will be performed after school and over weekends. With this installation, we anticipate a reduction in heating costs.

The varsity football team will play its first game Saturday, August 30, at home against St. Basil, a Canadian team that we have played in the past. Game time is 7 p.m. See you there!

Sports pay-to-participate fees have been increased and they are as follows: Varsity/JV Football- $60; Varsity/JV Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Girls Volleyball- $60; Junior High-Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Girls Volleyball, and Track-$35; Varsity Track/ Golf-$35; Family fee-$245.

Elementary sports schedules can be picked up at the school.

The high school code of conduct and athletic handbooks have been completed. Expect your student to bring both home for your review, discussion, and signature. Both handbooks should be considered as "user's manuals" that govern student behavior and explain, in detail, school processes and procedures. All student questions will be answered the first day of school by their class advisor and Mr. Hobbs. If you have any questions regarding these handbooks, contact Sherry MacArthur, the athletic director, or Mr. Hobbs.

At this time, student enrollment is increasing, especially in the elementary grades. Secondary numbers are also on the rise. Families with students who are interested in attending Engadine Schools are asked to contact Mrs. Lesa Baker or Mrs. MacArthur as soon as possible. The elementary school will have an open house Monday, September 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. This will give parents time to meet teachers and discuss the educational program. We look forward to seeing you.

Welcome back to Mr. Tom Winchester, fourth grade teacher, who went on sabbatical for the 2007-2008 school year. He has been missed.

Enjoy the summer - it's fleet" ing. Go Eagles!
