Art on the Lake Planned at Curtis
Michigan artists and crafters will gather in Curtis for a one-day art and music festival Saturday, August 30, at 10 a.m. on the shores of South Manistique Lake. The annual festival, featuring many local artisans and musicians, is sponsored by Curtis Community Arts Council.
Along with displays of art, photography, and crafts, "Art on the Lake" will include live enter- tainment, food, a "welcome sign" silent auction, activities for children, and a children's parade with puppets Finn and Fern. The exhibits close at 6 p.m. and entertainment lasts until 7 p.m.
This year, live entertainment will include Michelle Chenard, playing a blend of rock, country, and pop, The Flying Latini Brothers featuring their original music and folk classics, and 9 Mile Smile, playing rock and roll.
The food tents will offer Upper Peninsula specialties prepared by local chefs, along with hot dogs and hamburgers. A selection of beverages will be available.
The Curtis Lions Club will serve an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Community Building.
