Hornets Lose 8-0 Heartbreaker

The Ski Valley Conference (SVC) football match up between Pellston/Mackinaw City and host Bellaire went scoreless for three quarters before the Bellaire Eagles won, scoring with nine minutes left in the game for an 8-0 win over the Hornets in Coach Dave Brines debut as Pellston's head coach.

The Hornets drove 63 yards to the 12-yard line. With 30 seconds on the clock, they failed on a fourth and goal situation from the 12-yard line.

"The big story is we moved the football, but couldn't finish with four times inside the Bellaire 30- yard line," said Coach Brines. "On the positive side, we played better in the second half, but the key is how the players will react in preparation for the game at Johannesburg Lewiston Friday, September 5."
