Crop Walk Is September 14 in St. Ignace

The 17th annual St. Ignace Crop Walk is Sunday, September 14, at 1 p.m. to raise money for people in need of food and clothing. Assistance also is given for winter heating bills.

The four-mile walk begins at the United Methodist Church on the business loop of I-75. Walkers will proceed north through the downtown district and return to the church.

Twenty-five percent of the money raised is given to the St. Ignace food pantry and the remaining funds are distributed to other countries for people in need.

The event is organized by local churches.

Those interested can register to walk or sponsor a walker the day of the event at Wesley Hall at the Methodist Church.
