Lottie Patrick

Lottie Patrick Lottie Patrick Lottie Helen Patrick, 91, of Sault Ste. Marie, died Monday, September 1, 2008, at the home of her daughter in Georgetown, Texas.

Born September 18, 1916 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Polish immigrants Nicholas and Sophia (nee Plecha) Glowka.

Mrs. Patrick lived in Detroit until her father's death in 1927. Her mother remarried in 1928, and the family moved to Goetzville.

During the World War II, she worked downstate in the Cadillac factory. She returned to Goetzville after the war and married Alick Frank Patrick. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

Mrs. Patrick was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Barbeau.

Mrs. Patrick enjoyed cooking, dancing the polka, taking care of others, playing cribbage and Word Find, writing letters, and a good Polish party, friends said, and she devoted herself to her family.

She is survived by two daughters and their families, Linda Carol and Wayne Wheeler of Georgetown, and Patricia Marie Violette of Lady Lake, Florida; one son and his family, Lester Alexander and Karen Patrick of St. Albans, Vermont; three grandchildren and their families, Wendy Marie and John Kopera, Kendra Gail Wheeler, and Jamie Nicole Wheeler; and two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Cassidy Kopera.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alick; one sister, Mary Ann Wade; two brothers, Theodore J. Glowka and Edward Nicholas Glowka; and a son-inlaw, Dennis Violette.

Visitation will be Friday, September 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford.

Mass will be Saturday, September 13, at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Barbeau. Burial will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Barbeau, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetics Association, or the National Kidney Foundation.
