Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement (SANE) has seized 1,085 marijuana plants since August 21, with a street value of $1,085,000, from 13 plots in Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Luce, Mackinac, and Otsego counties.

Processed marijuana, firearms, vehicles, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence was also seized. Arrest warrants will be sought.

SANE was assisted by the National Guard, and police officers in Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Emmet, Luce, Mackinac, and Otsego counties. SANE receives information on marijuana plants from tips and investigations. The plants are found by air and ground searches.
