Raquel McClendon To Run for Miss Michigan USA
Raquel McClendon Raquel McClendon of Kincheloe will compete for the title of Miss Michigan USA September 18 through September 20. The competition is being held at the McMorran Place Theater in Port Huron.
Miss McClendon is the daughter of Tom and Pauline McClendon and is a student at Baker College of Owosso, where she is a resident assistant and serves as the secretary of her hall's executive board. She has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is involved as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Some of her interests include traveling, sports, fitness, and reading.
The young woman chosen as Miss Michigan USA will go on to represent the state in the Miss USA Pageant April 19, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Miss Michigan USA will be awarded a full fouryear tuition scholarship valued at $34,000.
