Deadline Is October 1 for Recycler of the Year Nominations
The Upper Peninsula Recycling Coalition is looking for nominations for the annual Recycler of the Year Award. Nominations for individual and organization categories are being accepted. The deadline is October 1.
The award recognizes outstanding achievements in resource recovery in the Upper Peninsula. Organizations, businesses, and individuals may be recognized for innovative recycling, composting, and waste reduction programs.
Recycling, reduction and reuse of material, education and outreach, and composting programs will be considered.
The following criteria will be considered when evaluating nominations:
• Economic return efficiency
• Environmental and social benefits of the program
• Use of innovative approaches
• Creative problem-solving and soundness of planning, management, and design.
Two awards, one for an individual and one for an organization, will be presented at the coalition's conference in Iron Mountain October 8.
