DeTour
Now is the time to take a ride in northern Michigan, to view the beautiful changing colors of the fall season. Halloweeen decorations are already being displayed in all neighborhoods. What fun it is to see the sights.
Linda and Alex Fisher reported the turnout for the eighth annual Bob-O Classic was a success. There were 74 golfers, and they cleared about $5,000. All proceeds are given toward the Bobby Glasser Memorial Scholarship Fund. Qualifying DeTour graduates benefit from this college scholarship fund.
Plans are underway for the annual Village Christmas, which this year will be a three-day event, Friday, December 5, Saturday, December 6, and Sunday, December 7. Arts and crafts will be at the Village Hall. Artists will be located at the E.U.P. Cultural Center. Breakfast with Santa will be at Fisher's restaurant.
Friday evening, December 5, members of the Botanical Garden will hold a tree lighting. During this time the play "A Christmas Carol" will be presented. Casting of characters for the production is still taking place.
The Scholastic Book Fair will open with Family Night Wednesday, October 8, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the DeTour school and public library.
