Lifts Bulldogs to Win
The Bulldogs' running attack lifted Rudyard to a 42-14 road non-conference win over the Rogers City Hurons Friday, October 3.
The Bulldogs (4-2 overall) led 16-8 at halftime after Ben Gable and Arik Hesselink scored touchdowns.
Rudyard scored two touchdowns in each of the third and fourth quarters. Jared Clark and Hesselink answered in the third and Todd Anderson and Clark tallied scores in the final 12 minutes for the Bulldogs.
The loss dropped the Hurons to 2-4 overall.
Rudyard, which is two games away from qualifying for the state playoffs, will complete the season with home games against Gwinn (1-5), Cheboygan (5-1), and Munising (3-3).

Michael Klobucher Engadine Contest To Jets
The Engadine Eagles led 7-6 at halftime, but were unable to hold on as the North Central (Powers) Jets handed the Eagles a 26-23 Mid- Eastern Football League (MEFL) loss Friday, October 3.
The Eagles (1-5 overall) had two touchdowns called back in the first half that could have made a difference in the contest. It was the Jets' first win of the season.
Phillip Hood, returning after sitting out the game at Rapid River, completed a 10-yard scoring pass to Michael Klobucher for the Eagles. Klobucher, a senior, also kicked the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
The Jets (1-5 overall) scored in the second quarter to cut the Eagles lead to 7-6 at halftime and the Jets added a touchdown in the third quarter and two in the final period for a 26-7 lead with 7:18 left in the game.
Engadine stormed back, and, with 34 seconds on the clock, Hood and Klobucher hooked up on a 34- yard scoring pass. The pair also added a two-point conversion for a 26-14 score.
Klobucher recovered his own onside kick, and, with 11 seconds left in the game, Hood and Ryan Draper combined on a 32-yard scoring pass. Hood and Klobucher again converted the two-pointer to cut the final score to three points.
Engadine will host the Pickford Panthers (2-3) in the Eagles homecoming game Friday, October 10. Eagles offensive statistics: Phillip Hood, 22 carries for 180 yards, one touchdown, 10 of 22 passing for 133 yards, two touchdowns; Michael Klobucher, three receptions for 60 yards, one touchdown,

Hornets Fall to Warriors
The Pellston/ Mackinaw City Hornets dropped a 60-6 Ski Valley Conference (SVC) contest to the Forest Area (Fife Lake) Warriors Friday, October 3.
Coach Dave Brines and his Hornets (1-5) lost the services of Dylan Darrow and James Boeltner to season-ending injuries in the third quarter.
The Warriors (5-1) led 34-6 at halftime after Josh Schmalzried and Andy Hamlin combined on a fiveyard scoring pass in the first quarter.
The Hornets will close out the season with SVC games against Gaylord St. Mary (4-2) at home Friday, October 10, at Central Lake (5-1) Friday, October 17, and at home with Inland Lakes (2-4) Friday, October 24.
