Les Cheneaux
As I walked into the Les Cheneaux Community Library the other day, I noticed several women busy with something in the community room. This was a group of quilters who meet on the first Tuesday of each month to quilt. There are some excellent quilters in this group of about 20, as well as beginners, so if one wishes to, it's a good way to learn this beautiful craft. Beginners are welcome.
Each month, they complete a special project. The group has a goal of completing two main projects each year; the historical quilt that is raffled at the museum each year, and a club quilt. The project for Christmas will be fleece mittens and hats to donate to the school and for the mitten tree at the bank.
Our Les Cheneaux Schools football team is doing very well again this year, making the school and all of its fans happy. Congratulations to Abby Izzard and Clayton Meyers, who were crowned king and queen of the Les Cheneaux Trojans¿ at their homecoming game.
