Two Kincheloe Residents Are Facing Felony Theft Charges

Joshua Allen O'Connor, 21, and Scott James Adams, 22, both of Kincheloe, were arrested Tuesday, October 14, in connection with the September 19 break in of a Kinross business, according to Chippewa County Prosecutor Brian Peppler. A third man is being sought.

Stolen in the break in was 27,000 feet of copper electrical wire. The value of the wire was $9,000. In addition, the business was damaged by the break in. The stolen material was later sold for $972 at a local salvage firm, police reported.

Mr. O'Connor and Mr. Adams face felony counts of breaking and entering and larceny over $1,000 but less than $20,000. Mr. O'Connor is facing an additional charge of possession of marijuana. Both men have been convicted of felonies in the past and potentially face increased sentences.

Mr. O'Connor was arraigned Wednesday, October 15, in the 91st District Court and has a preliminary examination set for Wednesday, October 22. Mr. Adams was arraigned in the 91st District Court Friday, October 17, and has a preliminary examination is set for Tuesday, October 28.
