Dolores Griggs
Dolores Griggs Dolores Mae "Dee" Griggs, 76, of Kincheloe, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.
She was born May 12, 1932, in Marinette, Wisconsin, to Edward and Edna (nee Kamin) Lueskow. She was the oldest of their five children.
Mrs. Griggs grew up in Wisconsin, later living in Wisconsin and Michigan at various times. She worked as a waitress in different restaurants over the years.
She loved to be outdoors and in the woods, watching birds, deer, and other wildlife, fishing, or walking on the beach, picking up seashells. She enjoyed politics and was an active member of the Democratic party. Friends recall she always had a smile on her face when she spoke of her friends, especially Annie Goetz and Paul Warrick.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William Edward "Bill" Griggs; one son, Michael Webber of Kincheloe, three grandchildren, Nathan Webber, La Shawn Schobel, and David Webber, and nine great-grandchildren in the Milwaukee area. Also surviving are three siblings and their families, Douglas and Mary Lueskow, Sylvia Englund, and Virginia Weissgerber, and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Richard John Webber and David L. Webber, and a brother, Edward Lueskow.
A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, October 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. Services will be at 7:30 p.m.
Inurnment will be in Kinross Township Lakeview Cemetery.
