      The Cedarville Trojans coach and players took home four of the top five awards during the Mid- Eastern Football League All- Conference coaches meeting in Manistique Monday, October 27. First-year coach Scott Barr was selected Coach of the Year by his colleagues, while C.J. Paquin was named Offensive Player of the Year.

Eagles Clinch EUPC Volleyball Title; Celebrate Parents, Senior Night
      The Engadine Eagles volleyball team celebrated parents and senior night with a three-game sweep of the Pickford Panthers, clinching the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference (EUPC) title at home Thursday, October 30. The Eagles (6-2 EUPC, 27-10-1 overall) won their fourth consecutive conference crown in three games (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) over the Panthers.

      Several local high school football players were recognized at the 59th annual meeting of the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association in Escanaba Thursday, October 30.       Ricky Bedell of St. Ignace earned his first victory in a mixed martial arts cage match against Robert McCory of Sault Ste. Marie. It was one of about 10 matches that were enjoyed by nearly 300 people at St. Ignace's Little Bear East Arena and Community Center Saturday, November 1.
