The United Methodist Church's 93rd annual turkey dinner is this Thursday, November 6, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at LaSalle High School.
Angela Litzner, coordinator for "Take Five," is pleased to have a new assistant, Rita LaVake. This group meets five days a week at Community Action Agency, providing respite care for families of people with Alzheimers Disease.
Sheri Gould, head cook at Community Action, is back at work after enjoying a week off. While she was away, Marsha Huskey filled her position, but is now happy to be back behind her desk.
School bus drivers Randy Gustin, who is also the bus mechanic, Sandy Thorin, David Crisp, John Beaudoin, Frank Beaudoin, and Kelly Stevens as substitute driver, have a big responsibility as they rise early to get buses running for children.
Ed and Irene Zager of Lincoln Park are in St. Ignace this week visiting his brother and family, Joe and Shirley Zager.
Bud and Betty Closs of South Haven were visitors in St. Ignace this past week, where they stayed at the home of her late mother, Minerva Ogle.
About 35 area youth added ice skates to their Halloween costumes, taking in the Halloween skate party at Little Bear East Arena in St. Ignace Thursday, October 30. Dressed as a girl cheerleader, Lukas Riordan, 10, of St. Ignace took top prize for the boys best Halloween costume. All Girl Scout Troops will host a food drive at Glen's Market Friday, November 21, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Each troop will volunteer one hour each and groceries collected will be donated to our local food pantry.
Jerry and Lynne Piippo are celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary. They were married at her parents' home in 1981.
