Lloyd Boucha
Lloyd A. Boucha, 90, of Engadine, passed away at Luce County Annex in Newberry Sunday, November 2, 2008, surrounded by his family and under the care of Luce-Mackinac- Alger-Schoolcraft Home Health and Hospice.
He was born to Fred and Avus (nee Pixley) Boucha in Naubinway May 13, 1918.
On October 18, 1941, he married Mary Taliaferro.
Mr. Boucha served with the U.S. Army in World War II and was honorably discharged January 4, 1946.
He retired from management of Freeman Hardware in Engadine with 40 years of service, and also worked for three years at the Engadine post office and one year on road construction.
He was a longtime member of Engadine United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school to teenagers for many years, a member and past commander of the Boucha-Draves- Raski Veterans of Foreign War Post in Engadine, and a former member of the Engadine Lions Club.
His hobbies included golf, hunting, fishing, berry picking, spending time with his grandchildren, and baking, a hobby he picked up during his retirement years.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Mr. Boucha is survived by three sons and their families, Phillip and Darlene Boucha of Grand Blanc, Gordon and Debbie Boucha of Gaines, and Myron Boucha of Sault Ste. Marie; two daughters and their families, Susan and Chris Rohn of Jasper, Indiana, and Cynthia and Garry Smith of Engadine; a sister, Elsie Fisher of L'Anse; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clarence and Alfred, and three sisters, Rita, Erma, and Emma.
Friends may call the Engadine United Methodist Church Wednesday, November 5, from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Saundra Clark officiating.
Interment will take place at Engadine Cemetery.
Veterans graveside services will be provided by the Boucha- Draves-Raski VFW Post of Engadine.
Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry is assisting the family with arrangements.
