Dr. Karl Hele To Speak at Chippewa Co. Historical Society

The Chippewa County Historical Society will host a talk by Dr. Karl S. Hele on "Charlotte Johnston McMurray and Missions to Bawating, 1827-1838" Friday, November 7, at 7 p.m. at the front of the Historical Society's building at 115 Ashmun Street in Sault Ste. Marie. It is open to the public.

Dr. Hele grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and is a member of the Garden River First Nation community. He is an assistant professor of First Nations Studies and Anthropology, and the director of the First Nations Studies Program at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.

A brief business meeting will take place prior to the talk.
