Eagles Clinch EUPC Volleyball Title; Celebrate Parents, Senior Night

The Engadine Eagles volleyball team celebrated parents and senior night with a three-game sweep of the Pickford Panthers, clinching the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference (EUPC) title at home Thursday, October 30.
The Eagles (6-2 EUPC, 27-10-1 overall) won their fourth consecutive conference crown in three games (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) over the Panthers.
Seniors Lauren MacArthur and Shannon Browning played their final home game. The parents of varsity players were honored before the match.
"Lauren and Shannon demonstrated good attitudes, were very coachable, and contributed to the success of the team," said Eagles Coach Kathy Miller. "Team chemistry and unselfish play has been the key to the girls' success. There was never a problem with this group of girls."

Saints Bounce Back With Wins
Over Newberry, Cedarville
The St. Ignace Saints bounced back after disappointing matches to down the Newberry Indians and Cedarville Trojans during a tri-meet Thursday, October 30.
The Saints, in the best-of-three matches, swept Newberry 25-8, 25- 20 and Cedarville 26-24, 17-25, 15- 11, to improve to 11-4 overall in dual regular season contests.

Cedarville defeated Newberry 19-25, 25-18, 15-11 in best-of-three matches in St. Ignace Thursday, October 30.

Rudyard Places Third in SAC
The Rudyard Bulldogs volleyball team finished third in the Straits Area Conference (SAC) after a 6-4 record during the league tournament at Sault Ste. Marie Saturday, November 1.
The Bulldogs defeated Rogers City 25-20, 25-16; Newberry 25-22, 25-21; and St. Ignace 25-21, 25-23, and fell to Sault Ste. Marie 24-26, 15-25, and Cheboygan 19-25, 5-25.
Rudyard finished with a 15-22- 12 overall record.
Sault Ste. Marie won the SAC championship, followed by Cheboygan, Rudyard, St. Ignace, Newberry, and Rogers City.

Fall to Islanders in NLL Matches
The Mackinac Island Lakers split with the Hannahville Soaring Eagles and fell to the Beaver Island Islanders during Northern Lights League volleyball play Saturday, November 1.
The Lakers fell to the Soaring Eagles 25-19, 22-25, 23-25, 22-25, and downed Hannahville 25-13, 19- 25, 25-10, 23-25, 15-13. The Lakers were then defeated by the Islanders 25-18, 7-25, 25-19, 21-25, 12-15.
