Don't you just love it? We can have summer one day, and the very next day have winter. We took advantage of the warm temperatures and started to put up the Christmas decorations.
I didn't actually get my Christmas tree up, but thought about all my favorites ornaments I have packed away, one being a mohair angel that has lasted many years. Brad Ledy gave it to me when he was in the first grade at Gros Cap School. Brad and his wife, Amanda, live in Troy, and have two little girls, Evalyn and Charlotte.
Mary Carney and Warren Cunningham recently returned from a three-week trip to Maine, Florida, and Canada. Mary usually celebrates her birthday in Maine, but this year was in Florida, at a book sale. She and Warren also went to the Shaker Museum in western Maine.
Joe and Sharon Chalmers have been ill with colds this week, as have many other villagers. It is tenacious.
Mary Ann First is soaking a deer skull in peroxide to remove all of the remaining flesh. The finished product will be a wall hanging.
Happy 25th wedding anniversary to Sean and Janice O'Boyle. Friends and family gathered at the O'Boyle home this past weekend to celebrate the event.
Joe Chalmers called on the Rogers Farm this past week, only to be informed by Levi that the farm is closed; however, they still have eggs.
Anne Anderson had spent more than a week at the family home in Brevort. She harvested apples and canned sauce, butter, and apple pie filling. She became ill and was treated at Mackinac Straits Hospital, ending up with a stay for observation. Her husband, Bill, and son, Eric, came from Minnesota to drive her home to Bemidji. The final diagnosis was Bell's palsy, and she is recovering.
Andy Green of New Hudson, Glen Wiseman of South Lyon, and Fred Green of Dearborn were at the Green family cottage, installing kitchen cupboards and appliances this past weekend.
The television this Monday morning is showing snow warnings and advisories for our area. It's that time of the year when you want to check the weather before venturing out on the highways.
