      The St. Ignace Saints' first bid for a semifinal appearance in the football playoffs since 1996 came to a disappointing end with a 30-26 setback to the Crystal Falls-Forest Park (CFFP) Trojans, the defending Division 8 state champions, in the regional finals at the Superior Dome in Marquette Saturday, November 15.

      Charlie Sanders, a seven-time National Football League (NFL) Pro Bowl selection while playing for the Detroit Lions, will be at Kewadin Shores Casino in St. Ignace to sign autographs from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6. Sanders, a collegiate standout in football and basketball at the University of Minnesota, was a third round selection in the 1968 NFL draft.
