There seemed to be quite a few hunters traveling along US-2 this past week. Dave and I journeyed south, to hunt at the Movalson farm north of Howell. Charlie, Andy, Dave, and Eric Movalson all hunted opening day, in a steady, cold drizzle. The next morning afforded the hunters better weather, as a soft snow was falling, with no wind. Dave was the lucky hunter, bagging an eight-point buck. I enjoyed time with the grandchildren, Amanda and Zachary. Kelli and I had time to visit. On our trip home, we had decent roads until about 25 miles south of Grayling, where all of the wicked weather usually occurs, and it did. There were lots of trucks and cars in the ditch, some overturned.
