Cedarville Trojans Will Regroup for 2009 Season
St. Ignace Chief of Police Tim Matelski (left) and Mackinac County Sheriff Scott Strait of Cedarville had a friendly bet on the Saints-Trojans playoff football game, with the loser having to wear the opponent's football jersey. Sheriff Strait accepts the St. Ignace jersey from Chief Matelski. The Cedarville Trojans will regroup for next season, in hopes to have an opportunity to make a sixth consecutive trip to the Michigan High School Athletic Association playoffs in 2009, after compiling a 10-1 mark during the 2008 season.
Coach Scott Barr took over for Randy Schaedig this year and continued the winning tradition at Cedarville with the Trojans' second straight undefeated regular season and Mid-Eastern Football League title.
The Trojans will graduate 17 seniors who have been part of the success for the last two years, which includes a 20-2 overall record.
Cedarville will build the 2009 team with strong members from the 2008 junior varsity squad.
