Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but this is winter in the Upper Peninsula, so it must be dealt with accordingly.

Thanksgiving proved to be a very busy travel day, with folks coming and going to dinner with friends and relatives.

In preparation for Christmas giving, a few ladies in town have their sewing machines moving at warp speed. So much to do, so little time.

At the home of Bud and Mary Hart were their son and daughterin law, Mick and Coleen Hart, who joined sister, Sue, around the table for dinner.

Jerry and Susan Derusha, who call Escanaba home, were in the area for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Dale and Evelyn Burgess. The Burgess household was full to overflowing this past week. Guests included Jen and Ken Huyghe of Almont, along with their children, Kayla, Kennedy, and Jake.

Enjoying time away from college was Jamie Maison, a student at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, and her cousin, Nathan Derusha, who managed a couple of days off from work and traveled north from St. Clair Shores.

Birthday wishes to our very own granddaughter, Josie Fosdick, celebrating December 1, along with Nathan Livermore and Dawn Berry, also celebrating December 1, Lynn Moore December 3, my nephew, Daryl Browning, December 4, and Leon "Bud" Everhart December 6.
