Heavy Snowfall Ushers in December in EUP
St. Ignace resident and Vacationland Motel and cabins owner Tom Briggs plows through a fresh batch of fallen snow with his snowblower Monday afternoon, December 1, a chore he calls "a never-ending battle from here on out." St. Ignace schools were closed Monday owing to the snow. St. Ignace and Sault Ste. Marie saw only a fraction of what the western side of the EUP received Sunday night, November 30. The National Weather Service in Gaylord reported snowfall of up to 13.5 inches in Rexton and as much as 15 inches in Paradise. More lake-effect snow is expected at the end of this week. |
