Mother Nature seems to be throwing all sorts of weather at us, just to see what we can handle. We in the Upper Peninsula are hardy souls.

Pastor Tim Miller and his family will be traveling over the holidays. They will leave following church services Sunday, December 21, and will return Monday, December 29.

My husband, Dave, and I traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to return with our son, Dave, who was able to join us for Christmas. He will return to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, before the year is over.

The holiday concerts at Engadine schools last week were a pleasure to listen to. From the smallest singers to the junior high and senior bands, what a great show. The youngsters did themselves proud, along with band director Jeremiah Clark.

The 20/20 Youth Christmas variety show was held at the Rexton Mennonite Church Sunday, December 21. The show was a testimony to the youth in the area who participate in many activities, and do it in the highest caliber.

The O'Neil house in Gilchrest, which hasn't seen any lights in the windows for quite some time, was all lit up during hunting season. Staying in the house were Harriet O'Neil, with her daughters and grandchildren, while in the log cabin in the back were brothers Keith and Gary O'Neil and the other gentlemen members of the clan.

Former Naubinway resident Nina Weaver, who will have achieved centurion status, was celebrated recently at a party in Indiana, where she resides.

A speedy recovery is wished to Ron Pongracz, who recently underwent heart surgery. His daughter, Danielle, and family, made the trip north from South Carolina to spend some time with Ron during his recovery.

Other folks in the area who are in need of get well prayers are Connie Paquin, Ray Derusha, Shannon Brow - ning, Mary Ger - main, and Harry Fisher.

Belated birth day wishes to Brandon Moesch, Bob Edwards, and Sam Caverly, who reached his milestone 50th birthday, December 8, to the youngest of our children, Andy, December 11, our neighbors Rob Aldrich and Cheryl Hood December 13, Pauly Kleeman and Jim Kerridge December 15, Brad Maison December 18, Alan Browning December 19, Cheryl Franklin December 21. Happy birthday to our grandchildren's Engadine papa, Charlie Fosdick Sr., December 24 and Lance Kerridge December 28.

Anniversary wishes to Dewey and Cherie Wilder, who celebrated December 11, Bill and Karen Massey December 22, Ron and Cindy Pongracz and Sonny and Bev Stephenson December 23, Tom and Jo Prater December 26, and to my husband, Dave, who I have shared 45 years with, December 28.
