Curran Doud Blackwell, a senior at Greenfield School in Wilson, North Carolina, has received a congressional nomination to both the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Long Island. He is also a soccer team recruit at both academies.

He is the son of Kelly and Rusty Blackwell of Wilson and Pat and Sarah Doud of Traverse City, formerly of St. Ignace, and the grandson of Mike and the late Sandy Doud of St. Ignace.

Mr. Blackwell served as a Senate page as well as a governor's page in North Carolina during his high school years. He will be graduated from Greenfield School in May 2009.
