$5.7M Budgeted for Mackinac County 2008

Mackinac County's 2008 budget of $5.7 million is about 3% more than last year. Adopted by commissioners Thursday, December 27, the slight change is attributed to wage increases and a 5% rise in health insurance costs. While last year commissioners replaced windows in the Courthouse, no major projects are on the books for the county in 2008.

The budgetary process was conducted by the full board, beginning in August.
