Alirene 'Ali' Lewis

Alirene M. "Ali" Lewis, 8 months old, of Newberry, died of leukemia at Arbor House with her parents by her side Wednesday, January 9, 2008.

Born April 20, 2007, in Marquette, she was the daughter of Bennie and Sharon (nee Nelson) Lewis III.

She is survived by her parents and her older brother, Bennie IV, of Newberry; her grandparents, Bennie and Carol Lewis Jr. of Sault Ste. Marie, and Ken and Alice Nelson of Newberry; great-grandparents, Bennie and Marcia Lewis Sr. of Rexton, Ruby Mayer of Engadine, and Maybelle Wilson of McMillan. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by great-grandparents Larry Mayer, Shirley Gardner, Edward Wilson, and Joe and Edna Wilson.

Friends called Saturday, January 12, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Northstar Baptist Church in McMillan. Services were held at the church Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Paul Williams officiating.
