Arthur Krause

Arthur H. Krause of Engadine worked as a dairy farmer for many years. Mr. Krause died suddenly Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the age of 85.

He was born April 18, 1922, to Adam and Julia (nee Kruger) Krause on the family farm in Garfield Township.

He attended school through the eighth grade. In 1946, he married Wanda Thompson.

Mr. Krause was a selfemployed dairy farmer for more than 30 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and his interests included hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, and woodworking.

He is survived by his children and their families, Gregory and Diane Krause, Kurt Krause, and Kay Urbshot, all of Engadine; five grandchildren; his sisters, Emma Feneley of Alma, and Helen Pool of Michigan; and his best friend, Ervin Flatt of Engadine.

Mr. Krause was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda, who died in 1976; a grandson, Aaron Urbshot; five siblings, Herbert, Anna, Lydia, Hildagard, and Luna, and a special friend, Lorraine Feigel.

Services were held Monday, January 14, at 4 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Engadine with Pastor Arthur Bode officiating. Burial will take place at Engadine Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry is assisting the family with arrangements.
