Brevort Trinity Lutheran Church congregation hosted its annual meeting Sunday evening, with a potluck dinner following. Betty Giordani spent the weekend visiting with her daughter, Sandra, and family of Elk Rapids, and with her daughter, Crystal, in Petoskey and Brian and Jeannie Rose report business picked up at their establishment over the weekend, with the snowmobile trade. Last week Ernie Gustafson, Tom Gustafson, and Pega and John Kennedy attended the funeral of Scott Wilson of Sault Ste. Marie. Mr. Wilson was the husband of Vonnie Lamoreaux Wilson. Our sincere sympathies to Charlie and Gayle Lamoreaux on the passing of their son, Kurt Lamoreaux, who lived in California. Denny and Jackie Rippett called last week just to catch up on the news about the neighborhood. They asked to send greetings to everyone here in the village. Jamica Diamond loads up her dog, Cochise, on the snowmobile and rides the trails around the area. Ms. Diamond plans to make the dog proper attire to wear, as he does have short hair. Jerri Rose has purchased a digital piano. She has been brushing up on her playing skills this fall and winter. At 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, a meeting will be held at the fellowship hall at Trinity Lutheran Church concerning the closing of the second precinct in Moran Township. All interested citizens are urged to attend this meeting. There will be discussions on alternative ways of casting your vote. Get well wishes to Tom Coffey on his successful surgery in Howell. Keep Marcia Cheeseman in your thoughts and prayers as she addresses health concerns. The flu bug is making its rounds, so take extra care. The past week's luncheon at Trinity was well attended and we look forward to the next one Friday. Everyone is cordially invited to take part at noon at Trinity Lutheran Church. |
