Kristina Peffers

Kristina Marie Peffers, 20, of Pickford, died Thursday, January 17, 2008, in Barbeau.

Miss Peffers was born May 1, 1987, in Sault Ste. Marie.

She grew up in Pickford and was a member of the Pickford High School Class of 2005. She participated in basketball, volleyball, and track.

Miss Peffers will be remembered for her quick smile, friends said. She loved taking care of small children. Miss Peffers enjoyed snowmobiling, basketball, baseball, and swimming.

She is survived by her parents, Neil Peffers and Karen (nee Toupin) Peffers, and three brothers, Brent Peffers, Clayton Peffers, and Kirk Peffers, all of Pickford. Also surviving are her grandmothers, June Peffers and Eileen DePeel, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Miss Peffers was preceded in death by her daughter, Hailey, and by her grandfathers, Ernest Peffers, John Toupin, and Clifford DePeel.

Visitation was Friday, January 25, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. A funeral was Saturday, January 26, at 11 a.m. at the Pickford United Methodist Church, with visitation starting at 10 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Miss Peffers' family to enable them to purchase equipment for the Michigan State Police Underwater Recovery Unit.
