Paul Robert Husen Jr., 87, of Mission, Texas, formerly of DeTour Village, served in the U.S. Army in World War II and had a 30-year career as a long haul truck driver. Mr. Husen passed away at his home Monday, January 21, 2008.
He was born August 28, 1920, in Saginaw to Paul Robert and Agnes (nee Wallace) Husen.
Mr. Husen lived much of his life in the Saginaw area. During World War II, he served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in the European Theater.
He married Irene Sylvia Dominowski September 26, 1945, in Bay City.
For 30 years, Mr. Husen worked for Producers Transport Inc. as a truck driver out of Dow Chemical in Midland. In 1982, he and his wife moved to DeTour Village for the summers, and wintered in Texas for 20 years. He made Mission his year around home in 1999.
He is survived by two daughters and their families, Sandra and Wes Rogers of Sault Ste. Marie, and Judith and Gary Besaw of Bloomington, Illinois; six grandchildren and their families, Jon Rogers of Sault Ste. Marie, Paula and Jeff Bosley of DeTour Village, Melanie and Randy MacDowell of Rudyard, Shelly and Luan Tran of Thornton, Colorado, Michael and Mindy Besaw of Cody, Wyoming, and Kristie and Darren Ward of Lakewood, Colorado; and 12 greatgrandchildren, Emily and Scott Bosley, Tiffany, Taylor, Trista, and Trenton MacDowell, Peyton, Jack, Hadley, and Riley Tran, Lyla Besaw, and Brenna Ward. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Aileen Husen of Saginaw, Toni Batko of Bay City, and Margaret Leavitt of Bay City; three brothersin law and their families, John and Iris Dominowski of Auburn, Harry and Joan Dominowski of Bay City, and Edwin "Dick" Dominowski of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis, Lawrence, and Robert Husen, and three sisters, Jean Leavitt, Alma Leckleder, and Ellen Stalsburg.
Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in DeTour Township.
