Brevort
By Lois Movalson 292-5581

Super Bowl Sunday is over. Hope your team won. Now we get ready for Super Tuesday. It will be exciting.

Dot Glashaw has returned to her home on Epoufette Bay after an extended stay with her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Derick Jewel of Gladwin. She had to stay a few days because of the storm in the Upper Peninsula, then a storm swept through the Lower Peninsula, canceling any trip home. She got in some tubing with the grandchildren and had a chance to talk to Miriam Sterk Strohpaul. I remember Miriam and Carol Knight way back when I worked at the high school in St. Ignace. We would occasionally lunch at the old Homestead Restaurant. Fond memories from 1958 and 1959.

Kathy Reid was pulling for the Giants during Super Bowl Sunday.

Lara and Mike Gustafson, along with their children, Morgan and Kristi, hosted a Super Bowl party at their home for friends and family.

While Pega Kennedy was carrying a plate of deviled eggs to the fans in the Gustafson family room, she missed the last step and fell, twisting her ankle. John drove her to the emergency room at Mackinac Straits Hospital, just to make sure there were no broken bones. When the doctor asked if she saved the deviled eggs, she replied that she only lost a couple.

Pega and John Kennedy motored to Mackinaw City Saturday for the Mackinaw Mush, and some shopping.

Ellen and Bob Berry have spent time downstate with friends and family, celebrating the birth of their children. In their spare time, they have been skiing at the Dunes, Mc- Neerney Park, West Branch, Roscommon, and the Algonquin Park in Sault Ste. Marie.

Lunch at Trinity Lutheran Church was well attended last week. It was another tasty meal. We will gather again this coming Friday.

Awork bee was organized for the Hope Chest resale store in St. Ignace Saturday. Many volunteers showed up with buckets, rags, and rubber gloves, including two from Brevort, Mary Carney and Shari Baron.

Trinity Lutheran Church council will meet Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall.

The days are getting longer. Yea!

Happy birthday to Jerri rose February 10, Lucy Evashevski February 11, and Pastor Tari Stage- Harvey February 13.
