Six County Alliance Offers Free Business Counseling

Free business counseling sessions will be offered Monday, February 18, at the Sault Ste. Marie Area Chamber of Commerce.

Six County Employment Alliance Counselor Lance Wolfe will offer assistance to existing businesses as well as to anyone thinking about starting their own business.

For the past 10 years, counselors working with the chamber have helped local residents to open numerous businesses.

Services include providing a sounding board for new ideas, assisting with the preparation of business plans, referrals to qualified professionals, helping to identify regulations that may affect business, and help in developing loan packaging.

Services for existing businesses include identifying and managing resources, exploration of new markets, upgrading systems to enhance business operations, offering alternatives to existing modes of business, and assistance with developing refinancing plans.

The Six County Alliance is a program sponsored by the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Works!, National City Bank, Sault Ste. Marie EDC, Old Mission Bank, and the Downtown Development Authority. Appointments will be offered February 18 and February 25 at the Chamber and Michigan Works! offices, respectively.
