Winter is at its fullest. The wind is blowing, while on the Cryderman farm on Pealine in Pickford, Carrie and Glen Cryderman are continuously busy with their 4-H club, Noah's Ark.
Approximately 92 members meet monthly, preparing pigs, sheep, dairy and beef cattle, horses, rabbits, chickens, and crafts for the fair this fall.
This is the club's 10th anniversary, and Mr. and Mrs. Cryderman are looking forward to another successful year.
The couple has two children, Emma, 2, and Lance, 6. Lance will show "Billy Bob¿" a twoyear hen, this fall.
Mr. Cryderman is an electrician and works for Carl Reich Electric, then comes home and farms his 80-acre farm.
What do they do in their spare time? This Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Cryderman and friends gathered in the basement to make a scrapbook in preparation for Courtlyn Esslin's graduation this year.
Those present were Kim Esslin, Courtlyn and Krista Esslin, Kasey Falkenhagen, and Arriel Kaczanowski. Courtlyn, Krista, and Kasey are also 4-H club participants preparing pigs and steers for the upcoming fair this fall.

Donna and Bill Tellas have been sitting tight, enjoying the weather from their front room window.
Bill looks forward to the Amish Auction in Vermontville next spring. They are the parents of four children, Bill Jr., Cheryl Tellas, Sharon Portice, and Carol Arbic. Bill Jr. worked at Ionia Prison until a year ago, when he returned to this area.
He now works at one of the Kinross facilities.
An e-mail of encouragement came to me from Beth and Kent Hamel, who said they enjoyed the recent picture of the Saturday jam session. "I know Shirley Patrick from way back, when I went to grade school. She was Shirley Romano then.
I didn't know that she played the accordion.
I grew up in church with Tanny Armstrong and never knew until just lately that he plays instruments.
Keep up the good work," Beth wrote.
