Haines 'Mike' Henderson III

Haines "Mike" Theodore Henderson III, 66, of Moran, was a U.S. Air Force veteran who worked in the computer field. Mr. Henderson died at his home Wednesday, February 13, 2008.

He was born September 29, 1941, in Burbank, California, to Haines Theodore Henderson II and Elsie Mae Montgomery Henderson.

He spent more than three years in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1963, and three more years on reserve status. He entered the service in Los Angeles and was released at Kincheloe Air Force Base. He was a computer expert and pilot, with a title of system analyst specialist. He then worked for the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, Colorado, and North American Aerospace Defense Command Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Mr. Henderson worked for Compuware in Dearborn and retired in 1996, moving to Moran in 1998. Most recently, he was working at the Moose Lodge 999 of St. Ignace, on its computers.

He married June Soeltner June 27, 1961, in Nevada.

He is survived by his wife; three children and their families, Michael Henderson of Lewiston, Robert and Julie Henderson of New Boston, and Traci and Matthew Langston, of Nixa, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Henderson of Plantincia, California, a brother, John Ringer of California, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, John Henderson, who died September 22, 1991, and Thomas Henderson, who died January 8, 1995; and a brother, Robert, who died in 1984.

A prayer service was held Saturday, February 16, at the Moose Lodge with Father Norbert Landreville officiating.

Dodson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
