Walters Receives Scholarship; Will Student Teach in Australia

Central Michigan University senior Rebecca Walters has received a $500 Study Abroad Scholarship from the university and will student teach in Perth, Australia.

Miss Walters, who is majoring in family studies, life management education, will student teach at an elementary school from April through August. During her time in Australia, she also will work as a travel journalist for Café Abroad, an online community promoting diversity and awareness of study abroad experiences.

A 2001 LaSalle High School graduate, Miss Walters is the daughter of Linda Ortman of Grand Ledge and Mark Walters of Sunfield.
