Society Meets February 29 To Plan Quilt Show

The Pickford Area Historical Society will meet Friday, February 29, to plan a 2008 quilt show. Members welcome the public to meet with them at 1 p.m. at Pickford Township Hall, downstairs.

This year's quilt show will be June 13 and June 14, at Pickford Public Schools. Proceeds from the event will be used for museum operations.

"This is a big undertaking, and community support is needed," said society member Mary Jane Pennington. "Please plan to come and share your ideas and see how you can help."

Helpers are needed for advertising, set-up and take down, registration, lunch, sales, raffle, decorations, vendors, and demonstrations.

More information regarding registration will be posted in this newspaper for anyone with a handmade quilt, quilted wall hanging, or quilted article of clothing they are willing to display in the show.
