      Seniors Derek Marshall and Brandon Garries and junior Rob Robinson became the first wrestlers from St. Ignace's LaSalle High School to qualify for the Michigan High School Athletic Association individual state finals during the Division 4 Region 13 tournament at Rogers City Saturday, February 23.

Comets Clinch Share of NLC Title
      The Mackinaw City Comets boys basketball team clinched a share of the Northern Lakes Conference (NLC) championship with a 75-40 win over the Alba Wildcats Tuesday, February 19. The Comets, 13-1 in the NLC, needed a win against the Wildcats for at least a share of the league title.

      The Cedarville Trojans girls basketball team took control in the middle quarters with the inside-outside scoring of Jessie Duncan and Billie McLeod, who led the Trojans to a 75-52 Class D district championship win over the Brimley Bays Friday, February 22, at DeTour High School.
