Public and Businesses Are Invited to Underage Drinking Seminar To address underage drinking and the sale of alcohol to minors in Mackinac County, the general public and business owners are invited to a seminar and questionand answer period in St. Ignace Thursday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Econo Lodge, on the US-2 business spur. Presenters will discuss legal problems associated with underage drinking and discuss ways to curb the problem. The goal of the meeting is to help increase community awareness of the dangers of alcohol use by youth. Fred Strich of the Michigan State Police and Mackinac County Prosecutor Fred Feleppa will be presenters. The discussion will include a representative of the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, who will field questions for representatives of businesses licensed to sell alcohol, said Melanie McDowell of Luce-Mackinac-Alger-Schoolcraft Health Department. The seminar is funded by a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. |
