St. Ignace Bowlers End Season at MHSAA State Finals in Jackson

The St. Ignace Saints girls bowling team finished 10th at the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) State Bowling Tournament at Jackson Friday, February 29.

The Saints bowled baker games of 133, 149, 163, 198, 156, 149, 180, and 163, and two regular games of 729 and 818, for a total of 2,838. The top eight teams advance to match play.

Anna Krause led the St. Ignace girls with a two-game series of 346 (156-190), while Meghann Colegrove bowled 331 (183-148), Brooke Allan 311 (143-168), and Sara Tafelski 272 (128-144).

Jaimee Bloxsom bowled a single game of 168, and Melissa Brown had 119.

Chris Binger Places Sixth

in Single Competition

Senior Chris Binger closed out his successful high school bowling career with a sixth place finish during the MHSAA individual event at the state finals Saturday, March 1.

Binger advanced to match play with a six-game total of 1,288 that included games of 216, 238, 220, 184, 203, and 227, but lost his match competition after bowling games of 222, 210, and 163.

Saint seniors include Melissa Brown, Jaime Bloxsom, Chris Binger, Jamin Corwin, Andy Mullins, and Chris Feldman.
