Congratulations to the cast from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," and director David Rhinard.

The play was sponsored by Kid's Cafe. The performance by everyone was definitely first class all the way.

An outstanding performance was given by Matt Green, a senior at DeTour High School. An exceptional performance by Scott Bosley, an eight-year-old in third grade, left the audience in awe. Dave Rhinard does an amazing job with these young children.

It appears that Easter Sunday will be cold. With that forecast, it's doubtful we will be wearing our spring apparel. Friday, March 21, will be the first day of spring.

Following are the schedules of church services for this week: There will be an ecumenical Good Friday service at 7 p.m. at the DeTour Union Presbyterian Church.

Also, at the Union Church there will be a sunrise service at 7 a.m., followed with a breakfast. The regular service will be at 11 a.m.

Services at Redeemer Lutheran Church will be Maundy Thursday at 5:45 p.m. and Good Friday service at 1:30 p.m. Easter Sunday service will be at the regular time at 8:30 a.m.

DeTour Christian Church/ Chapel in the Woods will have Easter "son rise" service at 8:30 a.m., with breakfast following.

St. Stephan's Episcopal Church will have service an hour earlier at 10:30 a.m.

Wilderness Tabernacle will have service at the usual time, 10:30 a.m.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church will hold mass Maundy Thursday at 5:30 p.m., Good Friday mass at 3 p.m., and Easter morning at 10 a.m.

The DeTour Seniors Club is enjoying a wonderful turnout at the potluck dinners held the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Village Hall. Membership is growing; the only requirement to be eligible to join is that you are 55 years of age and older.

Mark your calendar for the next get-together Thursday, April 10.
