A belated happy St. Patrick's Day to all. We certainly aren't seeing much green yet. Everything is still white. Spring just has to be around one of these corners one of these days. One good sign is that the Easter bunny made his appearance Saturday, March 15, at the Manistique Tribal Center.

Engadine United Methodist Church is offering a new club for children in grades three through six.

The group meets right after school, in the church fellowship hall. They already have 16 members enjoying the fun. The leaders have a program packed with stories, arts and crafts, music, snacks, and games. Students will have an opportunity to complete activities, and to earn award ribbons and wristbands.

They wrap up their time together with prayer at 6 p.m. The club went snow sledding, snowmobiling, and snow boarding March 12, and they enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the Hiawatha Sportsman's Club before heading home.

One of the leaders meets the children in the hallway at the school library and escorts them to the church. Transportation home is available if needed. The next planned meetings are Wednesday, March 26, Wednesday, April 9, and Wednesday. April 23.

The Engadine United Methodist Church also sponsors a free family meal on the last Wednesday of each month. "All Stars Club" members help with the meal, then they join their families for dinner.

For more information, call the All Stars Club leaders at (906) 477-6766 or (906) 477-6163. The tentative schedule is: Wednesday, March 26, free meal; Wednesday, April 9, club meeting, and Wednesday, April 23, club meeting.

The Manistique senior class is playing basketball against Schoolcraft County law enforcement Thursday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at Manistique High School. Admission is $3. There also will be jail and bail, half court toss, 50/50, and other games.

All proceeds will benefit the alcohol- and drug-free Manistique High School all-night graduation party.

Stay safe and stay well. See you next week.
