United Way Plans Local Coin Drive

Grocery stores in St. Ignace, Cedarville, Rudyard, Pickford, and Newberry will host United Way coin drives Saturday, April 5, to help United Way reach its goal of raising $365,000 locally to fund 18 E.U.P. agencies. A coin drive will take place in Sault Ste. Marie Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, outside a number of Glen's Market, WalMart, Super Valu, and Walgreens.

The campaign that began last fall needs more than $40,000 to reach its goal.

United Way provides financial support to a variety of health and human service organizations, including Hospice, Meals on Wheels, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, E.U.P. Food Bank, and Safe Haven Shelter.

For more information about the United Way campaign and the agencies it supports, contact the United Way office in Sault Ste. Marie at (906) 632-3700.
