Frederick Case II

Frederick Case II
Frederick P. Case II died at his home in Riverdale, Utah, March 4, 2008, of cancer.

He was born November 24, 1936, in Sault Ste. Marie to Frederick P. and Nan Case.

He grew up in St. Ignace, and attended St. Ignace schools.

In 1959, he married Judith Malnar, also of St. Ignace. They are the parents of three children, Frederick P. III, Deirdre, and Tom.

After two years of military service, Mr. Case completed his studies and was graduated from Michigan State University. In 1964, he began a distinguished career with the federal government at the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Center in Warren. This led to assignments in New Jersey, Colorado, Alaska, and Seoul, Korea. In 1979, he accepted a position with the Defense Logistics Agency and became the civilian personnel officer at Defense Depot Ogden, retiring in 1993. His professional accomplishments and awards were numerous, friends pointed out, and his counsel was sought by many.

An avid reader all of his life, his interests were many and varied. Mr. Case enjoyed traveling following his retirement, and he enjoyed golf. More than his enjoyment of the sport, however, was his love of the friendships and associations it brought. It was nearly impossible not to be drawn to him upon making his acquaintance, friends said; his good nature, dry humor, and quick wit will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Fred.

He is survived by his wife, Judith, two children, Tom of California and Deirdre of Utah, a sister and her children, Abbie Knepp of Michigan, and extended family members.

Family services and interment will take place in Owosso in the spring.

Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
