Gilbert Michel

Gilbert Arsene Michel, 76, of Mio, died Monday, March 10, 2008.

He was born November 30, 1931, to Lawrence and Emma (nee Stanton) Michel.

Mr. Michel served in the U.S. Marine Corps and then in the National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion for many years, serving as post commander when he lived in the Ecorse- Wyandotte area.

He made his home at Fiber, moving there 35 years ago from Ecorse. Because of his health, he then moved to Mio three years ago.

Mr. Michel is survived by his children and their families, Gary and Keith Michel; two siblings and their families, Sherry Simon of River Rouge, and Austin Ray and Phyllis LaVigne of Mio; grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

No services are planned.
