American Cancer Society Offers Summer Camps for Young Patients Registration applications for young cancer patients and survivors from Indiana and Michigan are being accepted for the Young Campers Day, Camp Catch-ARainbow, or Young Adult Retreat programs this summer. Young Camper's Day and Camp Catch-ARainbow applications are due by Friday, May 16, and Young Adult Retreat Applications are due by Friday, June 13. Application forms can be obtained by contacting (800) 227- 2345, or online at www.cancer. org/- camprainbow or www.cancer.org/retreat. Cancer survivors between the ages of four and 15 years of age may take part in one of these three camping programs offered free of charge by the American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division. Young Camper's Day, a one-day program offered for children four to six years old, will be Sunday, June 15. Camp Catch-A-Rainbow is a week-long summer camping experience, to be held June 15 through June 20, for children between the ages of seven and 15. Both programs are held at the YMCAStorer Camps near Jackson, where children have access to activities such as swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, and arts and crafts. Young adult cancer survivors who are 16 to 20 years old may take part in the Young Adult Retreat in South Bend, Indiana, July 10 through July 13, on the campus of St. Mary's College. Medical and non-medical volunteers, especially male volunteers, are needed to assist at all three programs.
