St. Ignace Girl Scouts participated in a "Spread the Bread" event by bringing homebaked breads, muffins, and cookies to be decoratively wrapped with ribbon, tagged, and given away within the community Wednesday, March 12. The baked goods were distributed to elementary school staff, senior citizens at Community Action Agency and Charters Cove, police and emergency rescue crews, Long Term Care staff, and Coast Guard members.
The Girl Scout Law asks scouts to pledge to be "considerate and caring" and to "make the world a better place."
"This is just one way that the girls learn to apply the Girl Scout Law to everyday life," said Susan Horn, Girl Scouts manager.
"Spread the Bread" is a global grassroots organization whose mission is to use the gift of bread to nurture children's innate generosity and help foster a life-long commitment to helping others.
