Pickford
By Audrey Hutchison 484-7825

Jim and Marion Miller have spent the last few warm days enjoying their morning coffee on the sun deck. Saturday evening the family went out for dinner to celebrate Jim's 75th birthday. Those present were Tim and Patsy Miller, Keith and Sue McDonald, Marty and Sherry Miller, and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Next week Jim and Marion plan to go to Wisconsin to visit their daughter and her family, Jan and Mark Huber.

The Pickford Area Historical Society quilt show will be at the Pickford High School gymnasium Friday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be available in the multi-purpose room. A bake sale, craft vendors, and quilt supplies will be offered. The show will feature antique as well as modern quilts, made by quilters from the Pickford area. Signature, pieced, embroidered, crazy, appliqué, hand and machine quilts will be on display.

Quilts that have been quilted by the Pickford Quilters at the Town Hall will be featured, and those who have one of these quilts are asked to contact the society, to be able to display it at the show. Featuring a history about all of the quilts, including the owner, the quilters, and age of the quilt, is the group's goal. Items can be brought to the museum Monday through Wednesday of that week or to the high school gymnasium Thursday, June 12.

Registrations must be sent to the society by June 1 for planning purposes. The society welcomes photos, histories, and memories connected with quilting in the Pickford area to be submitted for the show.
