Spring Track Season Opens With Warm Temperatures at Kiwanis Field

Saints high hurdlers Shane Spring finished first in the boys meet, and Kayla Gustin placed fourth for the girls.
The 800-meter relay team placed sixth.

DeTour Boys/ Girls Results

Boys: Teryn Miller won the 1600-meter run (5:20) and the 3200 run (11:33.9), and finished third in the high jump; Harry Reinfelder, fourth in the discus.

Girls: Sarah Reed, fifth in the discus and shot put; Danielle Weidman, sixth in the 100; Nicole Melcer, sixth in the low hurdles and high jump.

Boys/ Girls Results

Boys: Woody Beardsley placed third in the 1600-meter run and discus, and fifth in the 800-meter run.

Girls: Michi Mullings finished second in the long jump and fourth in the 100.

Saints Boys 4th, Girls

5th at Boyne City

St. Ignace's boys team finished fourth and the girls placed fifth during the second meet of the season at Boyne City Wednesday, April 16.

Kyle Smock led the Saints victories in the 100-meter dash (12.40) and the 200 (25.73); Anthony Lester, second in the high jump and fifth in the long jump; Caleb Litzner, fourth in the low hurdles and fifth in the high hurdles; Corey Nelson, fourth in the long jump; Evan Everson, sixth in the long jump.

The 800-meter relay team took third, 1600 group took fourth, and the 3200 foursome placed sixth.

In the girls pole vault, Jaimee Bloxsom took first (8'6"), Kali Jo Marshall placed third, and Nicole Elmblad finished fifth.

In the high hurdles, Kayla Gustin took third and Heather Beaudoin sixth.

Amanda Coveyou took third and Kristen Olsen fifth in the high jump while, in the shot put, Christi Therrian placed fourth and Chelsey Bosley took sixth.

In the long jump, Samantha Radecki took fifth and Kara Fitzpatrick, sixth, while Dani Ford finished eighth in the 200.

The Saints' 400- and 3200-meter relay teams finished third, its 800 foursome took sixth, and the 1600 group took seventh.
